Frank & Morris Eckhart were brothers who started the Auburn Automobile Company. They were two very successful wagon makers in the 1800s. After years and years of unsuccessful cars Auburn was given $50,000 and essentially one last chance to produce a successful car that actually sales. They came up with the 1935 Auburn 851 Boattail Speedster with a supercharged V8 engine that had the power of 150 horses. In other words really fast and really successful.
