Ettore Bugatti's oldest son Jean took control of Bugatti's design in 1936. That's when he created the Type 57 Atlantic one of the most beautiful high speed sports cars of it's time. In 1939 Jean Bugatti was testing a newer version of the Type 57 when he swerved on the road to avoid hitting a cyclist, hit a tree and died. The type 57 was not the most aerodynamic sports car but it was unique and has been remade and customized by many.
